Last year, I made not one, but an entire list of New Year resolutions.
Let's see how I did.
1. Organize, organize, organize
**Well, I started off poorly in 2009 due to Franklin Covey sending my planner pages to Ohio, New Jersey and who knows where else before they finally arrived in Illinois sometime in mid February (I went straight to the store last week in order to not have the same happen in 2010!) But besides that bump in the road, I did pretty well until I moved desks at work. Since then it's been a disaster.
2. Exercise more often
**Proud to say I kept up on this one, however, I didn't get a good start until Spring. I started running outside and began hitting up a few workout classes here and there at the Riverplex. Need a plan for after these holiday splurges though! Portillos, Cheesecake Factory, homemade fudge & cinnamon roles, stuffed pizza...yikes!
3. Dance again
**I signed up for a summer dance class at Water Street Dance Co. in downtown Peoria. Unfortunately, as I expected I was with many teens and soon I remembered that summer really was a break from dance back then, so it was more on-the-fly choreographing than I would have liked. Does trying to imitate moves from SYTYCD count?
4. Speak up
**Well, figuratively I think I made it. I'm always more of the quiet one but I got a lot better about speaking up at work and in other situations this year. Literally though, mumbling still seems to be a problem. I never realize it until the other person says 'what?' or 'didn't hear that..' Thanks, Dad =) Maybe for 2010, I'll make a resolution to yell & scream, haha.
5. Don't waste time on re-runs
**I used to spend a lot of 'free' time watching shows I'd seen plenty-o-times and in some cases didn't even like that much. Glad to say (besides the classics I love - Sex & The City, Friends, Seinfield) I spent more 'free' time doing new things or being productive.
6. Stay better connected
**Finally joined Facebook in January after years of refusing. Have to say I love being able to share photos and stay a little more up to date with the world through this social site. Facebook or otherwise, relationships strengthened this year. Had a great year with good friends & family!
7. Keep the honeymoon going!
**No complaints on my side. Guess I should ask Robert how successful he thinks I was!
I'll be thinking about new 2010 resolutions or edits to these...more to come by Friday!
