LOOKBOOK.nu: "find irresistible." by Nadja Seale

Yes. Irresistible. I heart coats, so a coat you can pull off as a dress - I'm in! And love the shoes (even though they are flat).

Back in Power

The latest Elle magazine and elle.com both announce the pointed-toe heel is back in power! Thank goodness!

In case you didn't know, I only buy pointed-toe stilettos, no round-toes here! Maybe this means I'll actually be able to find some new work shoes this year. My black, zippered pointy-toed shoes have been through a lot (including today's instant street flooding!).

Vegas by night

Plans for the bright light nights in Vegas!

Not sure about the shiny dress yet. Want to wear it, but need some thoughts on how to style it!

Look what I've started

So after e-mailing my Vegas outfits to my friends (will post my evening wear tomorrow - - or better known as 'you can dance in those shoes?!' wear), one of my friends photographed her outfits, too!

I won't post them all, but LOVE this one. Where did you get this dress?

Vegas by day

So, to get through the 110 degree weather, here are the daytime outfits I have planned for our weekend. (Hopefully, a lot of time is also spent at the pool!)

outfit 1: Navy dress from Body Central, belt from ?? (can't remember) and shoes from Plato's
outfit 2: Gray-jeweled dress from TJ Maxx, same belt and shoes from Forever 21
outfit 3: Romper from Kohl's, shoes from Macy's

Heel-step, heel-step, heel-step

Not sure if there's a fancier word for running, but I'm sure if I did it in tap shoes you'd call it heel-step.

And I've been doing that a lot! In the past few months, I have done more running than I've done in my entire life. Seriously. I never (ever) thought I would be considered a runner. I never wanted to be. But it's something Robert and I started doing as an activity together, and I think it's grown on me.

I've done 3 races so far - 3mile, 5k and 4mile. We've signed up for yet another race - - the longest one yet. Half marathon in September! Yikes! Well, I was actually planning on doing it as a relay with Robert but before starting the Firecracker 5k last week, Robert somehow talked me into trying to train to do the whole thing...as soon as I finished the race 30 minutes later I changed my mind ;)

Anyway, training for that starts on Sunday. 6am in the morning mind you.

This is dedication for sure.
Have you noticed Robert only owns 2 shirts he'll run in? As always, he needs fashion help. hehe

And PINK gets me high as a kite

 My famous pink shoes... (above)
Have a new friend. (below)

Pink...it's my new obsession...yeah
Pink...it's not even a question
Pink...on the lips of your lover
'Cause pink is the love you discover

Pink...as the bing on your cherry
Pink...'cause you are so very
Pink...it's the color of passion
'Cause today it just goes with the fashion

Pink...it was love at first sight
Yeah, pink...when I turn out the light
And pink gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

You could be my flamingo
'Cause pink...it's a new kinda of lingo
Pink...like a deco umbrella
It's kink that you don't ever tell her

Yeah...pink...it was love at first sight
Then pink when I turn out the light
Yeah...pink gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

Yeah...
I...want to be your lover
I, I wanna wrap you in rubber
And it's pink as the sheets that we lay on
'Cause pink...It's my favorite crayon

Yeah
Pink...it was love at first sight...yeah
Pink...when I turn out the light
Yeah, pink...it's like red but not quite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

Suit jackets & Steel Toes

This post is a little late in the making and I figured I wouldn’t post in the end, but after sitting in the airport for 3+ hours, I figured WTH. (Plus, I’ve tried to update progress on my 2010 goals every once in a while and this aligns with my ‘To Market to Market’ goal so it had to be done at some point!)

A month or so ago, I attended our marketing orientation class at work. The first day everyone showed up dressed best in show – heels, suit jackets and even ties. A group made up of people from all over our global organization – Illinois, Florida, Texas, Brazil, India, Switzerland, France, Poland, Turkey, Germany, UK, Japan, Peru, Costa Rica…think you get the picture.

And while within the first day, people kept in their space and within their groups of people they knew, it soon changed. Throughout the next few weeks after a few drinks, dinners and bus trips to visit other facilities in the Midwest we got to know each other much better.

By the end of the 2 weeks, you could find us in steel-toed shoes, jeans and polos (even though this was mostly a manufacturing facility requirement - - I’d say the comfort of our clothing, aligned with the comfort of our relationship). Hope I get to see most of them again some day. Thanks for the experience (and sorry for the late post).
