Sandals for the Midwest...or Cancun

This weekend we went home for Easter. I found some time to head to the mall and check out some new stores. Cute sandals are everywhere! Which made me start thinking about my summer footwear and found some shoe ideas for the bathing suit I'm interested in.

Now...I plan to just use my sandals and bathing suit in the Midwest this year; no vacation plans for us. (We'll be using our time off to do some housework and painting this year). But what's more fun is while we were visiting our family this weekend we got to surprise our parents with a trip to Mexico! Robert and I have been scheming on this one for a while to give our parents a vacation to one of the Palace Resorts (we stayed at one for our Honeymoon and another one last fall for vacation). We told them about it this weekend and were really excited to see their expressions! Now begins the planning and fun stuff on their end. Can't wait for them to enjoy it!

Jimmy Choo & Goo Goo

This weekend we bought tickets to see the Goo Goo Dolls in Peoria! Woohoo! It's been at least 2 or 3 years since I've last seen them (this will by my 4th Goo Goo Dolls concert). I used to be a concert fanatic, but haven't been on top of that scene recently. (Did I mention my tickets are 15th row in the theater..ah! so excited!)

I also have U2 tickets (also thanks to my hubby) for July. That will be my 3rd U2 concert - - see told you I love my concerts.

And I found the perfect rock star shoes for the occasion.

Maybe that's a lot to say about a shoe. Haha.

Joffrey does Primetime

A major reality show is gearing up to be shot right here. Chicago's internationally renowned Joffrey Ballet will be the focus of an unscripted TV series, tentatively titled ''First Position.''

Can't wait! I love, love 'So You Think You Can Dance' and hope this is just as good. I know 'Dancing with the Stars' started today, but I've never gotten in to that show.

Still trying to figure out how to get back to dance here in Peoria. There is a Swing dance night on April 10...now just need to figure out how to talk Robert into that one!

Spring Forward

While I have to agree that when the time changes (especially losing an hour) I am always a little 'off' that following week. HOWEVER, it is awesome to see the sun when I leave work and even when I head out for the night.

In the spirit of spring and the supposed-60 degree, sunny weather in Peoria tomorrow (!!!) here's a spring look I pulled together.

A New Pair

Today, I put on my running shoes. No, I haven't gotten 'a new pair' of running shoes, but I'll need to for my first run - - Pair Up for Health! This isn't a normal 5K, it's actually a trail race. The first of its kind in the Peoria-area and its being put on by the Junior League of Peoria.

I registered for the race today (race is Saturday, June 12 at Wildlife Prairie Park).  So..now I'm committed, which means I need to get to the next step, training. I figured I need to get myself back into shape as I've recently gotten too 'lax, plus, at the same time I get to support the JLP!

love the dresses, but what about the Shoes?

I'm currently multi-tasking with the Oscar red carpet show on in the background. With my love for fashion, this is one of the best parts of the show...

but I always wonder 'what about the shoes?' Maybe with so much fabric the shoes are mostly simple, but for me I think I would make that my statement.

The Replacements

Ever since Bella ate my favorite pair of shoes (look at that guilty face!) I've been trying to find some new pewter shoes. While still no luck finding the right replacement shoes for the workplace, here are some awesome shoes I found in the meantime!
